1) Election
Office bearers – President

Office bearer’s election every 2 year

Requirement for contesting the post – Should be Elected for 2 terms in the executive i.e. 4 years
  • In the National Exec. Committee – 2 terms ie 4 years or
  • One term (2 year) in National Exec & 1 terms- In city branch, exec committee
  • 2 terms not running concordantly.
Exec Members
  • For Exec members- should be Membership of one year
  • For the second time applying for the exec member – Should have attended at least one exec. Committee meeting excluding conference.
  • No Member will seek election for more than 3 turns for the post of Vice President, Gen Secretary, Treasurer or elected member of executive
  • Shall not contest simultaneously for more than one office bearers post
    i.e.
    President Elect
    Vice President
    Gen Secretary
    Treasurer
Election Procedure
Terms of all posts change during concerned annual general body Meeting The ballot paper should reach the secretariat office on or before 31st Aug.
Eligibility
1. For the post President and Vice- Presidents , Gen Secretary , Secretary ,the candidates should have been elected and not nominated for 4(four) years or two terms as follows : on the National Executive Committee for a minimum of 2(two) terms i.e total 4( years or in the National Executive Committee or 1(one) term of 2(two) years in National executive Committee and 2 (two) years as office bearer in the city Branch Executive Committee , the 2 terms not running concurrently.
2. All other positions - membership of the Society for at least 1 year is mandatory
3. For re-eligibility to contest election for any post on the National Executive Committee - the candidates must have attended at least one Executive Committee Meeting excluding the one held at the annual conference i.e a total of 2 (two) out of 4 (four) Executive Committee Meeting.
4. No Member shall be eligible to seek election for more than 3 tenures as Vice- President , Gen – Secretary ,Treasurer , or Elected Members of the Executive Committee.
5. The President/President Elect Shall not seek election for any position in the Executive Committee after completing his/her tenure .However he/she can be nominated on the executive committee as may be decided by the Executive Committee.
6. A member shall not contest simultaneously for more than one office- bearers post (i.e of President – elect , Vice – President , Gen Secretary & Treasurer)
Election Procedure
1. The Election shall be held for President – Elect, 2 Vice President , Gen Secretary , Secretary , Treasurer, Four Elected Governing Body Members (All – India basis ) every two years.
2. The President Shall become immediate Past President –Elect shall become President automatically after the expiry of their tenure
3. By 25th May, the General Secretary shall send to each member a list of vacancies in the Executive Committee and invite nominations for these vacancies.
4. The nomination paper which shall set out the candidates name, address and the office for which the candidates is nominated shall be proposed by one valid member and duly signed by the Executive Committee if elected.
5. There shall be separate nomination paper for each candidate and for each post.
6. These nominations must reach the Secretariat not later than 30th June.
