Eligibilty 
  • Eligibility for joining Indian Diploma in Critical Care course (IDCC)
    • MD Medicine/Chest/Anaesthesia

    • DNB Medicine/Chest/Anaesthesia

    • MS General Surgery/Orthopedics

    • Diploma in Anaesthesia/Diploma in Chest diseases/Diploma in Orthopedics.

    • The base qualifications must be from a recognized university or MCI/State Medical Council equivalent. Teachers must ascertain eligibility of candidates before forwarding applications to the course coordinator. In case of any doubt controversy regarding eligibility the course coordinator should be consulted. Decisions by the ISCCM executive committee in this regard will be final & binding.

  • Eligibility for appearing for the IDCC exam
    • Candidate are eligible to appear for the IDCC exam after satisfactory completion of the specified training period in a recognized centre for the IDCC ( two years for DA/DTCD candidates & one year for MD/MS candidates). The CoBaFolio competencies record should be duly filled & presented at the time of the oral exam.

  • Eligibility for joining the Indian Fellowship in Critical Care Course (IFCC)
    • Along with the basic qualifications for the IDCC, it is mandatory to pass the Indian Diploma in Critical Care certificate course (IDCC) for candidates who wish to do the IFCC. Such candidates also have to present a research paper/audit either as a poster or oral presentation at the ISCCM national conference or at an equivalent national or international conference. Individual case reports will not be accepted. The CoBaFolio competencies record should be duly filled & presented at the time of the examinations

  • Eligibility for appearing the IFCC exam
    • Candidates are eligible to appear for the fellowship exam (IFCC) after Completing one year training post in a recognized centre.

    • Candidates with equivalent training abroad can apply for the IFCC exam on a case to case basis. Such candidates will have to first appear for the IDCC exam before being eligible to appear for the IFCC exam

    • Candidates who have already completed the IDCC before the fellowship course was in place are eligible to appear for the IFCC exam after completing one year or more post- IDCC working full time in intensive care at a recognized institute. Such candidates also have to present a research paper/audit either as a poster or oral presentation at the ISCCM national conference or at an equivalent national or international conference. They should also complete the CoBaFolio competencies record & present it at the time of the examinations

    • Candidates who have not worked in a recognized institute after their IDCC/certificate course should have at least 2 years experience post certification & should be working in intensive care for at least 50% of their professional time. Such candidates will need to appear & pass the written exam of the IDCC in the year they decide to take the IFCC exam. Research work presented at the ISCCM national conference or at an equivalent national or international conference during or post certification will be considered for such candidates. They should also complete the CoBaFolio competencies record & present it at the time of the examinations
