The ISCCM Foundation Day was celebrated by the newly formed Chandigarh Branch with several activities.
i) A Quiz on “War against Sepsis” was organized on Pediatric residents
ii) A quiz on “War against Sepsis” for practitioners and postgraduates on 9th October, 2011 .

iii) A CME was organized on the evening of 7th October, 2011 in which 54 members and consultants in practice participated.
The CME was chaired by Prof.Subhash Verma, Head, Dept. of Internal Medicine, and Prof.S.K.Jindal, Head, Dept. of Pulmonology and Critical Care. There were three talks: one on “Basic Pathophysiology and recognition of sepsis” by Dr.Jayashree M and second one on the “Management Issues” by Dr.Ashish Bhalla, Addl.Prof of Internal Medicine, PGI. Prof GD puri from Anesthesia Dept, PGI gave a special overview on Sepsis based on survey conducted by him on understanding and practice of sepsis care among specialists. This was followed by Dinner. The event was sponsored by Astra-Zenica.
iv) A press release was given to highlight importance of sepsis in general Public and covered all these events very well. “War against Sepsis” brochures were distributed among public at PGIMER & posters were displayed at all important locations in OPDs & wards in PGI, and three private hospitals.
