The CME on Cadaver organ transplantaion was organised by ISCCM Nagpur and Central India Kidney foundation(CIKF) on 11th Dec 2011 at Hotel Tuli Imperial,Nagpur.
Welcome address was done by Mrs Vandana Khushlani- President CIKF.
Dr.Anand Dongre, Chairman ISCCM, Nagpur-
spoke on idea behind organizing this CME.
Dr. S.J Acharya, Senior Consultant Nephrologist in Nagpur, who is also Organizing chairman for this CME,spoke on
need for organ donation and cadaver transplantation in India.
Dr. B.G Waghmare-Ex Dean GMC Nagpur and
presently Chairman of Zonal Transplant Co ordianation committee (ZTCC) spoke and introduced the ZTCC.
Dr. Rajaram Powar,Dean GMC Nagpur-Spoke on how Government took initiative and constituted ZTCC which has paved the way for organ transplantion in the region.
Dr. Mukund Baheti,Senior Consultant Neurologist-Gave an overview on Diagnosis of Brain stem Death.
Dr.Kamal Bhutada,Consultant Intensivist-Spoke on Maintainence of Cadaver in ICU.
Dr. Rajesh Sone, Consultant Urologist and Rental transplant Surgeon-Described cadaver surgery for organ harvest with regard to Cadaver renal transplantation.
Mrs Manjiri Damle-Psychologist, told the gathering regarding
counseling of relatives for organ donation.
Dr. Prakash Khetan,Consultatnt Nephrologist spoke on role of ZTCC in organ donation.
At the end, A panel discussion was arranged, Moderator was Dr. Nikhil Kibe- Consultatnt Nephrologist from Akola, Panelist who participated in this were Dr. Sameer Choubey, Dr. Anup Marar, Dr. S. J Acharya, Dr. Suhas Salpekar and Dr. Mukund Baheti.
Vote of Thanks was given by Dr. Deepak Jeswani,Secretary Isccm, Nagpur.
The CME got 2 credit hours for delegates and 3 credit hours for Faculty.
About 60 delegates attended the CME.
